Tension adjustment screws in bottom edge (DRP 365637, 1922).
Left and right viewing cutouts with index marks, in back for reverse of slide.
Bevelled top edge, square bottom edge.
High cursor grooves both cut parallel to front face.
Shallow rebate in back .
Front, well, top and bottom edges celluloid faced, secured with wooden pins (DRGM 371190, 1908).

The combination of scales logo and "*" between model number and maker is unusual, the newer scales logo appears to have been added later to an old body with the existing previous printing format.
"D.R. PATENT. No 206428 No 365637" in the centre of the well below the split, sans-serif.
"MADE IN BAVARIA." on the top centre of the back, sans-serif.
